​Sailing Charters & Captain Services
Deeplake Ventures offers private (just you and your guests), captained charters on Lake Michigan and/or Lake Macatawa on a Catalina 28 MKII sloop.
A wide variety of charter experiences are available from a slow paced sunset sail or tour of the homes on Lake Macatawa to an exhilarating sprint with the sails fully powered. Passengers are welcome to take part in handling sails and steering the vessel or can simply rely on the Captain. Your interests and weather conditions will be the primary things that shape your charter.
Popular reasons to charter include:
- Birthday, anniversary, engagement, photo shoot
- Sunset, moon rise, star gazing
- Corporate outing, team building
- Learning to sail
- Sun, fun, and relaxation
Charters can include up to six passengers and are available weekday evenings/sunsets with a 6:00 - 6:30pm departure time. Evening trips are generally two to three hours. Weekend day and evening charters are also available with variable departure times based on your schedule. Weekend charters can be up to four hours in length, longer with planning and preparation in advance.
Charters depart from slip A-38 at Eldean Shipyard, conveniently located just minutes from the harbor entrance.

Note: Please get a day parking pass in the Ship's Store and park in the gravel lot next to the sand volleyball court if possible (Property Map).
Recommended items to bring:
- Comfortable shoes, preferably without black soles
- Layered clothing, especially in May and Sept
- Hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen
- Snacks and drinks
- Music​ (Bluetooth connectivity and USB charging available)
